When India was still battling with the first wave of the Corona Virus Pandemic, the country is again clouded with the second wave of the Covid-19 virus which is twice as dangerous and deadly as the first wave and is spreading at an alarming rate within the country.

The corona virus pandemic has brought a 360-degree turn in our lives. Our life today is very different from how it used to be before the pandemic. This pandemic has taught us a lot and we have learnt many lessons from it. We all have changed for the better. The virus which has continuously been cursed all over the world has done a favour to mankind.

In this world of cut throat competition, where our only goal was to compete and win, corona virus brought a level of stability in our lives. It gave us time to retrospect and introspect. Just as Robert Frost mentioned in his poem, ‘Keeping Quiet’, how one needs to keep quiet to think and learn about oneself. The pandemic has made us realise the value of time and learn about things that we truly desire and want. We spend all our life running behind things that we do not really want or require and neglect the ones that we already possess. It has made us appreciate what we have rather than what we do not have. Many people have started their own businesses during this pandemic which has made them realise their hidden potential. People who used to be so busy have now found time to pursue their hobbies and work on themselves. Covid has been a blessing in disguise for most of the people all over the world.

According to a data, almost 60% people skip their breakfast every day. Breakfast is one of the most important meals of our day and should never be skipped. People are so busy working the whole day that they fail to appreciate the value of food in our lives. Most of the millennials these days do not sit and have their food properly. Most of them tend to skip their breakfast or have it in a hurry while rushing to their work places and institutions. According to science, one should have their food peacefully and should never rush. Even according to our Indian culture, one should eat his or her food peacefully without talking and speaking. These days, people are running after immune boosters and medicines to improve and build their immunity but we should realise that the best source of nutrients is the food we eat. The nutrients in the food we eat do not get absorbed properly if not consumed in the right manner.

Another lesson that the pandemic has taught us is the importance of family in our lives. Our family is our support system and is the one that will always stick around no matter what. The lockdown has made us realise how every other person in our life is temporary but the only people who will always be there for us is our family. The pandemic and lockdown gave us a chance to work on our relationship with our family members and helped us interact with them more. Due to the rat race, we never used to spend quality time with them. Another thing that the pandemic has made us value is the feeling of empathy. We have started empathising with people. Earlier we were so involved in our mundane lives, running and rushing towards achieving our goals and ambitions that we hardly realised about the suffering of the people around us but now it has given us time to look at others. So many people have come out in open to help others selflessly, not just celebrities and famous people but common people as well and are trying their best to give respite to others. So many people have started supplying food to the covid stricken families without thinking about any monetary gains.

Covid has been a blessing in disguise for us and we can count innumerable blessings bestowed on us. It has woken us up from a deep slumber and has opened up our eyes to be a part of this significant social change.
